Machine Learning in Astronomy

This is  the wiki for an informal group interested in developing techniques for machine learning in astronomy and astrophysics, in areas such as source extraction and classification, redshift measurement, transient detection, and detecting the unexpected, with a particular focus on extracting science from data from large survey projects. This is an open, informal group, and anyone interested in working in this area is welcome to join.

The format and wiki are based on a predecessor - the very successful "machine learning in astronomy" meetings held over the last 2 years and hosted by Western Sydney University.

Our biweekly meetings are regularly joined by visitors from around the globe. Please feel free to drop in and say hello.
